This makes Piotr\u00f3wka a special place, whose issues go far beyond the scope of medieval studies.<br\/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-style-column-reverse is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-style-column-reverse is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>The present book is intended to open a several-volume series of publications devoted to the results of the excavations carried out at Piotr\u00f3wka between 2010 and 2013. They were part of a broader programme, the final effect of which was to include the site in the social and cultural fabric of the city, and which is still far from being completed. This makes it all the more important to compile and make available the data collected during the four excavation seasons at the fortified settlement \u2013 not only because of the importance of the research for the knowledge of Radom\u2019s history, but also as a basis for sustainable and responsible management of the material heritage of the Mleczna Valley\u2019s past. A key issue is to determine the chronology and dynamics of the process that shaped the present cultural landscape of the site.
