Yellow Point Publications was born as the outcome of the discussions about how the academic book should look like. We are a professional team that, apart from a passion for books, has a professional education in this field.
We want our books to be on the highest editorial level, and their typographic form reflected their function. From this year, we also publish under our own name. Our main purpose is to publish valuable works from the area of social sciences and humanities in esthetical and clear typographical form.

We are a professional team that, apart from a passion for books, has a professional education in this field. We are not afraid of challenges. We also deal with orders with short lead times, such as conference programs, calendars, exhibition albums, brochures or promotional materials. We are not limited to archeology only. Each book is different, so feel free to contact us to discuss the project.
One of our main tasks is to perform typesetting of publications (DTP). We have over 70 monographs in the field of archaeology to our credit, and the same number on other topics. Some of our projects can be seen in the projects tab. We also handle short-term assignments such as conference programs, calendars, exhibition albums, brochures, and promotional materials.
Scientific conferences, congresses and meetings need a visual setting. We create logos, match colors and fonts. Our work is not only the preparation of a book of abstracts or printed conference programs, but also posters, blank or personalized badges, postcards, bookmarks, notebooks, folders and conference gadgets, even those you have never thought of. Of course, we take care of the entire preparation and production process, and you get the finished product.

Urban violence harnessed or unleashed? The role of arms and armour as everyday objects in the daily life of a medieval and early modern port town: The example of Gdańskedited by Lech Marek
This publication explores the role of arms and armour in medieval and early modern Gdańsk through an anthropological lens, departing from traditional studies focused solely on typology, origin, andproduction. Drawing on archaeological evidence from over 60 sites and a collection of 372 artefacts, the study investigates the social significance, ownership, regulation, and everyday use of side arms (such as daggers, falchions, and swords) within the urban context of a multicultural port town. It examines how weapons functioned as personal accessories, status symbols, and tools for self-identification, while also addressing the legal and social constraints on weapon ownership and display. The work analyzes how patricians and other urban groups emulated knightly customs, the implications of sumptuary laws, and the overlap between civilian and military obligations. It also incorporates iconographic sources and metallurgical analyses to understand the origins and usage of armour. Ultimately, the study aims to reconstruct the biographies of artefacts and their owners, placing arms and armour within the broader social, legal, and cultural fabric of historical Gdańsk.
