Jaromír Žegklitz
Kachle z dílny hrnčíře Adama Špačka (1531-1572) na Novém Městě pražském
56,00 €
The publication is the result of the author’s several years of intensive research and represents a comprehensive evaluation of one of the most important sets of Renaissance tiles in the Czech Republic and Europe. The uniqueness of this collection is due not only to the number of finds (nearly 30,000 pieces), but especially to the fact that by a happy coincidence it can be attributed to a specific, well-known manufacturer. The processing of this unique collection has resulted in a wealth of information about the functioning of the pottery workshop, the technology of making Renaissance tiles, the decorative motifs used and their cultural and historical context. The catalogue of the finds provides a rich pictorial documentation of the entire collection, including a number of photographically documented analogies. (Archaeologica Pragensia – suplementum 5)
