A comprehensive overview of 169 Roman families is meticulously crafted, detailing how their members contributed organizationally to the functioning of Roman coin production and left varying degrees of artistic influence on the design of Roman coins.

A remarkable achievement of the author is the creation of the most comprehensive catalog of coins from the Roman Republic. This catalog is based on Crawford’s classification and includes a total of 1,812 distinct entries, of which 1,527 have been photographed. For easier navigation, it is organized by denominations and then chronologically. All photographs are in color, and the vast majority are enlarged.
