01/09/2021 the publication of Jakub Sawicki Dress Accessories from Prague, c. 1200 – c. 1800. 1800 Catalogue of finds. has its premiere. The book was published in cooperation with the Institute of Archeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. The catalog discusses a collection of costume accessories consisting of 743 items. Some of them, such as buckles or belt end fittings, are well recognized in the literature on the subject. However, some elements, such as ratchet buckles, segments of metal straps, or various elements of bags, are still often unrecognized or incorrectly identified. The state of knowledge about the chronology of costume accessories is also imperfect and we hope that this catalog of monuments from such an important city as Prague will at least partially fill this gap.
